Should you upgrade to the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus?

So you are using a iPhone 4 or 5 series and you're wondering if the upgrade is really worth it. What's not to love about the new 6 series? Let's take a look at what you can expect from the new iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.

  • Improved Camera
  • Longer lasting Battery
  • Larger screen
  • Faster CPU and Graphics
  • Faster LTE and 3G
  • Improved iOS 8 Capabilities.

Apple have really brought out the guns with the new 6 series. The new units are zippier thanks to the new A8 Dual Core Processor and nice on the eyes with the new rounded look and feel. NFC has been added so you can now make wireless transactions using apple wallet or other services. While many of the changes are minor it does make a big difference using a retina screen - the display is simply amazing. Is this really worth the $100 price jump? You be the judge. Here's how the new units compare to older ones.

Still using a iPhone 4/S?
Upgrade today! The iPhone 4 is out-dated with its bulky design and storage limitations.
With Apple releasing new Operating Systems the 4 series is falling behind as the hardware is just too old to run the new iOS well.

Still using a iPhone 5/C/S?
These models still have a few years to go until they get too old to run future iOS releases. I have seen the iPhone 5 lag compared to the 5S a few times in iOS 8.These are in no way old or bad devices. In my opinion you should stick with any of these devices for another year.

If you find your current device's performance to be sub-par then make the switch. If you have no problems on your current unit then wait it out until the next iPhone gets released (Later this year).
If you want to really use iOS 8 the way apple intended it to then you should definitely upgrade to the new iPhone 6 and 6 Plus - they are truly beautiful devices. At the end of the day it all comes down to budget and personal preference.

Going "Cloud"

"The cloud" is a term we hear all the time but what exactly does it mean?

In the simplest terms, cloud computing means storing and accessing data and programs over the Internet instead of your computer's hard drive. The cool thing about this is that your files can be accessed from anywhere and on any device that you use.

Gone are the days of carrying around a flash drive to pass information onto colleagues and friends. As long as you have a internet connection you can access, edit and updated files in real time. Not only can you do file storage but you can also host an entire server in the cloud, so if your office burns down over night your servers along with priceless data is 100% safe.
Most people use free cloud services such as Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive - they are free, reliable and offer many storage options. Below is a product comparison chart:

If you are looking for Cloud storage for your business then check out OwnCloud, it is cheap and easy to manage. Owncloud is also fully compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux.

I cannot stress how important backups are, always have more than one copy. You cannot put a price on your data because once its' gone its hard to recover. Have a look at these Online Cloud Backup options: JustCloud, Mozy and CrashPlan. They offer manual and automated backups of files and full servers.

Make the jump to Cloud today and start enjoying the benefits of future computing.

From Breaking Bad to Better Call Saul

Breaking Bad is one of the most addictive TV Shows all time. For those of you who have not seen it, stop reading now and go rent all seasons, it's that good. For those of you who have seen it I know how you're feeling: lost, sad and wanting more. Unfortunately the show has no plans to return but with it's epic ending would you want it to?

Show creator Vince Gilligan has heard your prayers and blessed us with a Spin-off show titled "Better Call Saul". Better Call Saul is set years before Breaking Bad and features some familiar faces, one being Mike Ehrmantraut the Private Investigator/Hitman. You will know Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) as the cheap-skate, dirty lawyer who also showed a funny and caring side. Breaking Bad never really showed us much about Saul's past, I think most of us wondered why he was so well connected during the series and that's what made him such a interesting character. The great thing about this show is that it carries the same tone as its predecessor, a tone that cannot be replicated by anyone besides the Breaking Bad creator and writers.

There is no doubt that this show will carry on the Breaking Bad legacy and give fans what they want. Have a look at the trailer below and see for yourself.

How to Choose the Right Laptop

span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Computers are our best friends when they run smoothly and when they don't they are our worst enemies.
I have a saying for those that want to buy a new system - You can't afford to buy cheap. Since you will most likely spend a majority of your time using it, you will need to find the right laptop for you.

FIRST, you need to decide what you will use it for and SECOND, What your budget will be.

The Ultrabook range offers the best in portability with their small size (11"-13") and light weight. Don't be fooled, they still pack a huge punch in performance. These units run Microsoft Windows and Linux. Dell and Lenovo have some great Ultrabooks right now (see below). Another option is a Macbook Air which runs Apple OSX and boasts great performance and battery life.

Uses: Microsoft Office, Internet browsing, Music and E-Mails.
Pros: High Performance, portability and great battery life.
Cons: No DVD ROM, Small screen, upgrade options limited and limited USB Ports.

The General Laptop offers the best of both worlds: Performance and decent size.
These generally come in 15" sizes and up. They are slightly bulkier and heavier than Ultrabooks but don't be fooled - they are still very portable. Most people buy these laptops as they are great for Home, Office and recreational use.
